Looking for an economical way to update your kitchen? NuLook Cabinet Refinishing, LLC has two solutions for you: kitchen cabinet refinishing and kitchen cabinet refacing. Choosing which one is right for you depends on several factors. Find out more about both processes to see which one is right for your home.

Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing

Kitchen cabinet refinishing means we reuse your entire current cabinets. To do this, you need to have a base and doors that are in good condition. It is not a problem if the doors are drooping or if they need minor fixes. However, if you have serious damage it may not be an option.

To refinish your cabinets, we start by removing the current finish. How we do that depends on what you currently have. It usually involves thoroughly cleaning the cabinets and then sanding them to rough them up. We can then paint them to get the look that you want.

Refinishing gives you a better look than if you just brush some paint onto your cabinet doors. That is because we use special tools to give you a durable factory-like finish. When we are done, your old cabinets will look like new. We can finish up the project by applying new hardware to completely change the look of your old cabinets.

However, if you have cabinets with a distinct pattern that you want to change, or if you want decorate patterns, this choice may not be for you. In that case, you should look at kitchen cabinet refacing.

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing

Kitchen cabinet refacing still reuses your old cabinet bases. We go through the same process to prep the base as we would if we were refinishing the whole cabinets. However, we do install new doors.

Refacing is a great option when you have more than normal wear and tear on your cabinet doors. It is also great if you want to completely change the look of your kitchen. You can use almost any variety of cabinet door and install it on your current base.

Refacing gives you more flexibility to get the final look that you want. However, because you are replacing the cabinet doors it is a more expensive project.

Which One Is Right for You?

Determining which one is right for you depends on your renovation goals. We encourage you to give us a call and meet with one of our cabinet specialists. Tell them what look you want to achieve and they can let you know the most economical way to get that look.
